Christian Benedetti's grandfather Nicolas Benedetti immigrated from Italy in 1930 and married a daughter of a wine grower in Chateauneuf du Pape. Today Christian's son, Nicolas, after having finished wine school helps his father at the domain. The domain owns 4 hectares of Chateauneuf du Pape, 10 hectares of Cotes du Rhone and 2 ha IGP Vaucluse. Some of the vines are very old - planted just after the Phylloxera, that is more than 100 years. Since 2000 the domain is certified "Agriculture Biologique"
75% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 5% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault
In Concrete Vat, the Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdres and cinsault are separately vinified for a better blend result. 30 to 40 days of maceration for the best extraction of the tannins.
30% new barrels for 12 months, 30% 1-year barrel, 20% 2-years barrels and 20% inox vate . The wines are bottled after 2 years of ageing
Natural filtration (cold and gravitation), no filtration or chemical collage
Appearance: The wine has a dark crimson colour with purplish tints
Nose: unique and powerful, with black fruits aromas, cherry and garrigues.
Mouth : powerful, complex, well balanced, with dark cherry, spcies, and honey liquorice, intense and great persistence
